LEARN

The Sea Turtle Centre is an interactive museum. It may be small, but we’ve packed an ocean of discovery into a tiny place. During your visit you’ll learn about endangered sea turtles, see specimens and artifacts, and find out what marine biologists at the cutting edge of sea turtle research are working on right now. If you have questions, our knowledgeable staff and volunteers are always happy to talk turtles.

PLAY

Visiting the Sea Turtle Centre is fun for the whole family! Our friendly staff and volunteers are always prepared to help kids with crafts and hands-on activities. Planning a birthday party? Preparing activities for a summer camp group? Email us at info@seaturtle.ca

SHOP

The Sea Turtle Centre isn’t just a museum… it’s the perfect place to buy a unique gift. Find books about marine life, turtle toys for tots, environmentally-friendly products, cards and gifts designed by local artists, and jewelry hand-crafted near the turtles’ nesting beach in Trinidad.

All proceeds from the shop support sea turtle research and conservation.

HOW TO FIND US

The Sea Turtle Centre is at 1549 Lower Water Street (“Salt Yard”), which is near the base of Salter Street on the historic Halifax waterfront. Conveniently located just a few minutes’ walk from some of the city’s best restaurants and most popular tourist attractions, the Sea Turtle Centre is a perfect destination for any traveler, and an out-of-the-ordinary adventure for any local.

There is no admission fee; it’s always free to visit the Sea Turtle Centre. However, many of visitors choose to leave a donation or make a purchase in our small shop. All proceeds from the Sea Turtle Centre support research and conservation.
